NBA Youngboy Lamenting Grievances With His Record Label, Bolstered By Meek Mill With Similar Lamentations.

In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, NBA Youngboy opened up about several things going on in his life including his legal situation, and his record label, among several other topics.

Several thousand fans tuned in Tuesday (1/26) on ‘Clubhouse‘ to hear what the young rapper had to say about new music and generally what’s going on with him. At one point when the convo turned to his music, YB stated he wanted to stop being a slave to his label, Atlantic Records adding that he don’t see a big check for the numbers he generate.

The Dream Chasers rapper, Meek Mill who last year dropped his ‘Expensive Pain’ album on Atlantic Records, has also recently aired out his issues with the label, albeit, using Twitter, and claiming he hasn’t received money from his music and is looking to pursue legal action.

The Philly based rapper took to Twitter on Tuesday (2/1/22) to air out his grievances, saying Atlantic won’t let him “drop music until 9 months after my last album got blackballed” despite making the label “100’s of millions.”

‘Expensive Pain‘ hit the ground running, after it debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 in October and was supported afterwards with a rollout that saw his album artwork, commissioned by Atlantic Records who enlisted Nina Chanel for the creation…. Though it was noted briefly by Mill, it is unclear about his references to being “blackballed.’

Mill also discussed his relationship with Roddy Rich noting that the “label [separated] us instantly when the millions came in from him,” and said Atlantic tried to do the same thing with Meek and Rick Ross.

Meek became a noted supporter of Roddy in the beginning when the Compton rapper hopped on Meek’s outing entitled “Message To Nipsey,” released in early 2020.
